Info The map is made up of care activities collected with the help of the citizens of Eisenerz in 2023. Please click on the shaded areas (colour coded) and drawings for more information. The lighter fields provide information about historical contributions.

Method This map locates 108 spatial practices, building on citizens’ stories of care, maintenance and repair in the Austrian mining town of Eisenerz. It depicts the constant reparative counter-practices taking place amid extraction.

The project is indebted to the citizens' knowledge and hospitality, and the support of the municipality. The citizens contributed and located their stories, which we collated on the map above.

The artist Roswitha Weingrill transformed the citizens' stories into drawings.
